Important Guidelines: Any person with a known medical condition should always consult their physician before engaging in yoga practice. Women who are menstruating (on the first 3 days of the cycle) or are pregnant should avoid breath of fire and other exercises that powerfully engage the naval center like Sat Kriya. Inverted poses where the legs are lifted higher than the naval point should also be avoided. Long deep breathing can be done in the place of breath of fire. Resting in child’s pose or savasana, during poses like stretch pose, is also encouraged.

Class 1: The Ajna Chakra

3rd Eye Activation

We open this practice with a few vigorous warm ups to get the prana flowing and to calm the mind. Jai Dev then gives a deep and transformative eleven minute lecture on the necessity of moving through life with a meditative mind and the 3rd eye activated. He discusses what that looks like, how we can achieve it, and the importance of devotion in the process of living our authenticity.

This class includes powerful pranayama practices and exercise set for ‘overcoming weaknesses’. The class closes with the meditation to ‘Stimulate Your Chakras and Feel Wonderful’.

Important Guidelines: Any person with a known medical condition should always consult their physician before engaging in yoga practice. Women who are menstruating (on the first 3 days of the cycle) or are pregnant should avoid breath of fire and other exercises that powerfully engage the naval center like Sat Kriya. Inverted poses where the legs are lifted higher than the naval point should also be avoided. Long deep breathing can be done in the place of breath of fire. Resting in child’s pose or savasana, during poses like stretch pose, is also encouraged.

As long as I’m increasing that frequency of perception then I’m also increasing my ability to stay happy with increasing amounts of stress, I’m also increasing my ability to stay centered within very chaotic experiences….So that’s the practicality of intuitive power.

“Mindfulness of death is a nectar-like medicine that restores you to health and a sentinel that watches over the discipline of your practice, never letting it stray into distractions.” -Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche

Sincere contemplation of your own mortality immediately pulls the pranic life-force right into the center of your being. It immediately causes the mind to become aware of what’s really important in life, versus what seems to be important, but in actuality, is profoundly insignificant.

Your being is made up of two essential parts. (1) The part of you that never dies, and (2) the part of you that does die…the infinite and the finite. When the part of you that never dies becomes more real to you than the part of you that does die, you have begun to taste the sweetness of deathlessness.

It is impossible to know at what time and on what day the moment of our ‘death’ occur. Real deathlessness has nothing to do with the inevitability of this future event. Rather, it’s about having an experience of the part of you that will never die, today.

In this class we’ll be doing a famous Kundalini Yoga kriya that clears the karma that’s stacked up in the Arcline, the nucleus of your magnetic field. As long as you’re bound to time and space, which will be the case if your karmic load is affecting your everyday behavior, then your capacity to experience the infinite inside you is limited. The Arcline operates as your shield, the more you unload the weight of karma, the stronger your shield becomes.

The Deathlessness Class Series

The root fear is the fear of death. Thus, the path of deathlessness begins with the practice of fearlessness.
Fearlessness is an auric power that a yogi can absolutely develop. However, to develop real fearlessness, one needs to first embrace its key ingredient…fear. Only by first embracing fear, can we honestly say that we are indeed on the direct path to fearlessness.

In this class you will practice Kundalini Yoga exercises to cultivate the quality of fearlessness in your life. You’ll then experience a potent 9 minute kriya that cultivates the ‘spirit to conquer death’. Finally, we end with a beautiful, yet challenging, meditation for ‘Experiencing the World Beyond’. Additional Instructions for 9-Minute Kriya

Part One: Sit in easy pose with a straight spine. The right arm is held at shoulder level and extends out straight from the body with the palm down. The left elbow is bent and the fingertips of the left hand rest on the center of the forehead in a vertical line between the hairline and the root of the nose. The thumb points straight up. Close your eyes and pump your navel powerfully as fast as you can- with or without breath of fire.
Part Two: Cup the hands slightly and extend your arms out straight in front with the elbows slightly bent and the palms facing upward. Open your mouth, tilt your head back a little, relaxing lips, teeth and tongue. Pump your navel vigorously.

Part Three: Inhale deep and holding the breath in as long as you can, criss-cross the hands rapidly in front of the chest. Exhale and open your arms and extend them away from the body. Inhale and begin the criss-cross again. Your arms should pause held out as you transition from the inhale to the exhale and vice versa.

Important Guidelines: Any person with a known medical condition should always consult their physician before engaging in yoga practice. Women who are menstruating (on the first 3 days of the cycle) or are pregnant should avoid breath of fire and other exercises that powerfully engage the naval center like Sat Kriya. Inverted poses where the legs are lifted higher than the naval point should also be avoided. Long deep breathing can be done in the place of breath of fire. Resting in child’s pose or savasana, during poses like stretch pose, is also encouraged.
