Divine Magnetism

There is a simple concept for us to hold as we journey through these teachings on Magnetism. It is this: all things are magnetic. All things have a pole to attract and a pole to repel. All things are meant to draw towards them that which is needed and to repel anything that is not needed. This does not happen at the superficial level of our thoughts but at a deeper praanic level. So as yogis, we must cultivate a much more subtle level of reality to do the wonderful work of Divine Magnetism.

Important Guidelines: Any person with a known medical condition should always consult their physician before engaging in yoga practice. Women who are menstruating (on the first 3 days of the cycle) or are pregnant should avoid breath of fire and other exercises that powerfully engage the naval center like Sat Kriya. Inverted poses where the legs are lifted higher than the naval point should also be avoided. Long deep breathing can be done in the place of breath of fire. Resting in child’s pose or savasana, during poses like stretch pose, is also encouraged.

Class 1: The Ajna Chakra

3rd Eye Activation

We open this practice with a few vigorous warm ups to get the prana flowing and to calm the mind. Jai Dev then gives a deep and transformative eleven minute lecture on the necessity of moving through life with a meditative mind and the 3rd eye activated. He discusses what that looks like, how we can achieve it, and the importance of devotion in the process of living our authenticity.

This class includes powerful pranayama practices and exercise set for ‘overcoming weaknesses’. The class closes with the meditation to ‘Stimulate Your Chakras and Feel Wonderful’.

“Through the depth of your breathing and the elevated gaze of the optic nerve in your eyebrow you start to draw the prana from the lower chakras up to the higher centers of your psyche. That starts to guide your feeling, thought, emotion and desire via natural intelligence.

It’s the activation of the human soul GPS system, which is the Ajna Chakra, the command center. But that requires a pressure from you. It requires hard work because that vitality, the force of your prana inside of you must be greater than the force of the stress and conditioning outside of you.”

Important Guidelines: Any person with a known medical condition should always consult their physician before engaging in yoga practice. Women who are menstruating (on the first 3 days of the cycle) or are pregnant should avoid breath of fire and other exercises that powerfully engage the naval center like Sat Kriya. Inverted poses where the legs are lifted higher than the naval point should also be avoided. Long deep breathing can be done in the place of breath of fire. Resting in child’s pose or savasana, during poses like stretch pose, is also encouraged.
