Protection Practices

When we learn how to build our vitality and our energy, we must also learn how to protect our energy.
Think of your energy system as a harmonious container. When our energy is contained and flowing well, we have control over our own domain. We’re easily able to focus on the areas of our life that need attention. We feel connected to our inner sense of meaning and purpose. We feel inspired to make things happen, and not like we’re needing to push all of the time.
However, if our energy field is leaking or easily disturbed, we will cultivate energy, but have a much harder time containing it. Our good life-force prana will be pulled this way and that way. Like a sieve, our energy can just leak away. We’re more susceptible to fall into negative and limiting belief patterns, experience chronic anxiety, anger, or sadness, and get overly pulled into the various dramas of life in a way that can be destructive to us and those around us.
This is where the Yamas of classical yoga give us crucial guidance on where boundaries are often needed in our life — with ourself being first and foremost! They give us crucial insights on how we can create a tough-love relationship with ourselves that won’t tolerate our more destructive subconscious patterning.
Let’s be real — when we’re talking about protection practices, the first place to start is our own mental patterns!
Let’s be sure we’re treating ourselves and our lives with the caliber that we were born for. When we’re good with ourselves and our own minds in this way, we’re much less susceptible to any influence from the outside.
In this class series, we will work on building our electromagnetic field. We will root out some of the inner tendencies of the subconscious mind that cause us to engage in destructive patterns. And, having built the strong container to hold our good energy, we will inject joy, inspiration, and purpose into life, no matter what is happening for us in this season.

Important Guidelines: Any person with a known medical condition should always consult their physician before engaging in yoga practice. Women who are menstruating (on the first 3 days of the cycle) or are pregnant should avoid breath of fire and other exercises that powerfully engage the naval center like Sat Kriya. Inverted poses where the legs are lifted higher than the naval point should also be avoided. Long deep breathing can be done in the place of breath of fire. Resting in child’s pose or savasana, during poses like stretch pose, is also encouraged.

Protection Practices

When we learn how to build our vitality and our energy, we must also learn how to protect our energy.
Think of your energy system as a harmonious container. When our energy is contained and flowing well, we have control over our own domain. We’re easily able to focus on the areas of our life that need attention. We feel connected to our inner sense of meaning and purpose. We feel inspired to make things happen, and not like we’re needing to push all of the time.
However, if our energy field is leaking or easily disturbed, we will cultivate energy, but have a much harder time containing it. Our good life-force prana will be pulled this way and that way. Like a sieve, our energy can just leak away. We’re more susceptible to fall into negative and limiting belief patterns, experience chronic anxiety, anger, or sadness, and get overly pulled into the various dramas of life in a way that can be destructive to us and those around us.
This is where the Yamas of classical yoga give us crucial guidance on where boundaries are often needed in our life — with ourself being first and foremost! They give us crucial insights on how we can create a tough-love relationship with ourselves that won’t tolerate our more destructive subconscious patterning.

Let’s be sure we’re treating ourselves and our lives with the caliber that we were born for. When we’re good with ourselves and our own minds in this way, we’re much less susceptible to any influence from the outside.

Important Guidelines: Any person with a known medical condition should always consult their physician before engaging in yoga practice. Important Guidelines: Any person with a known medical condition should always consult their physician before engaging in yoga practice. Women who are menstruating (on the first 3 days of the cycle) or are pregnant should avoid breath of fire and other exercises that powerfully engage the naval center like Sat Kriya. Inverted poses where the legs are lifted higher than the naval point should also be avoided. Long deep breathing can be done in the place of breath of fire. Resting in child’s pose or savasana, during poses like stretch pose, is also encouraged.

Important Guidelines: Any person with a known medical condition should always consult their physician before engaging in yoga practice. Women who are menstruating (on the first 3 days of the cycle) or are pregnant should avoid breath of fire and other exercises that powerfully engage the naval center like Sat Kriya. Inverted poses where the legs are lifted higher than the naval point should also be avoided. Long deep breathing can be done in the place of breath of fire. Resting in child’s pose or savasana, during poses like stretch pose, is also encouraged.

Important Guidelines: Any person with a known medical condition should always consult their physician before engaging in yoga practice. Women who are menstruating (on the first 3 days of the cycle) or are pregnant should avoid breath of fire and other exercises that powerfully engage the naval center like Sat Kriya. Inverted poses where the legs are lifted higher than the naval point should also be avoided. Long deep breathing can be done in the place of breath of fire. Resting in child’s pose or savasana, during poses like stretch pose, is also encouraged.
