Two thousand years ago, in the mystic land of ancient India, something extraordinary appeared on the earth.
A great sage named Patanjali gathered the most precious jewels of yogic wisdom and threaded them together into 196 luminous aphorisms. These ‘sutras’ became legendary, spreading across the subcontinent and eventually the world. They shaped the very lens through which great yogis would peer into the supreme reality and thus fill their bodies and minds with a profound inner bliss.
The Yoga Sutras were born.
Like a musician tuning to a frequency already humming in the cosmos, Patanjali offered to the world a living current — a map of consciousness, secrets of awakening — passed along in an oral tradition long before ink ever touched palm leaf.
The Yoga Sutras are not a complicated philosophy. There is no doctrine to follow. It is the science of how to transport the human mind and body from ordinary consciousness into inner bliss states.
As the practitioner progresses through various levels of meditative awareness, they generate profound inner energy and wisdom for their life. The highest of these states, Patanjali calls Samadhi — ‘super-consciousness.’
In our current age of glowing screens and fractured attention…
In this time of heightened anxiety, identity confusion, and restlessness…
The luminous threads of the Yoga Sutras cut through the darkness. They provide a practical map and method to relieve the mind of its turbulence and connect one to their greater universe.
Masterfully taught and filmed in the Mexican jungle of the Riviera Maya, Jai Dev’s course ‘Samadhi’ is a journey into the realm of the Patanjali Sutras.
It is an experiential learning that will both open up new dimensions of consciousness and teach you the method of meditation that has been used for thousands of years to unlock inner bliss states and connect you to your greater universe.
Most people do not suffer from a lack of insight; they suffer from a lack of energetic coherence. Deep down, we already know what is ‘good’ for us, yet we struggle to generate the will and energy to bring forth our full power. In the first module, we enter the mystic realm of the Yoga Sutras and discover the essential practices for gathering our energy and centering our ‘beam.’
When the mind’s beam is scattered, anxiousness and overwhelm overpower the system. Using potent yogic practices and the Patanjali method, we gather the life-force in the central channel. The body is infused with revitalizing energy and the mind opens up into inner bliss.
The renowned sage, Vyas, gave the most important commentary on the Yoga Sutras. Here he defines the ‘two great wings of yoga,’ without which the practitioner can never truly soar into the most exalted states of consciousness. In module two, these two wings are introduced and put into practice.
The first wing acts like an engine that propels us through the stages of meditation. The second wing assures us that we continue to soar along our path without getting stuck or confused. The exquisite teachings and practices of module two are as inspiring as they are transformational.
The Yoga Sutras point to four qualities of the ‘mind-space.’ For most individuals, the mind is dominated by excess density. Therefore, the inner luminosity is rarely able to shine forth. Here, we introduce the essential teachings and practices for purifying the mind-space so that our innate brilliance shines through. All of a sudden, we find ourselves feeling confident and radiant.
When the mind-space is purified, it becomes like a clear jewel, no longer obscured by the density of conditioning. Instead it reflects and magnifies the brilliance of our true nature.
Now we enter what the sage Vyas calls the ‘great gateway’ — the entry point to what became known as the royal path — the eight limbs of yoga. Module Four is the ethical backbone and devotional engine of the path: taught not as rigid ‘rules,’ but as personal, lived disciplines that stop energy leaks and concentrate the beam of your life. This module guides you through one of the most important practices of Kundalini Yoga for developing inner energy and the magnetic force to propel one into the greater dharma of their life.
A meaningful, stable, joyful life depends on the ability to concentrate life-force in the center of the being. This capacity can be trained through the complete system of Raja Yoga (Patanjali’s 8 Limbs), lived and embodied rather than merely understood.
In the grand finale of our journey, we explore the final limbs of the Yoga Sutras which propel the practitioner into the deepest states of the meditative experience. This is the quintessential experience of yoga — Samadhi.
